Desert King is on the winners list again this time in Australia with his 3yo son " Desert Control". Bred by Ultra Thoroughbreds ,Desert Control is out of the Real Cash mare called Vienna.

Having his fith start the Desert King youngster was very strong and won easily by two and half lenghts. Only out of the money once from his five career starts, this big gangly youngster showed some impressive gears yesterday when he was let loose and rounded up the field after settling 2nd last. In the last 100 meters the gelding just cantered away from 2nd placed Downs ( by Zabeel ) and 3rd placed Chilled Red ( by Red Ransom ) and made it look like he was just having a stroll in the park . Golden Snake Newsflash

Local galloper Hissing Sid has scored back to back wins in the Warrnambool Cup courtesy of a top ride by Ben Melham.

Settling well back early, Melham edged closer on the inside approaching the turn and as all the others scouted wide, Melham scraped the point and railed through to lead.

Having then released the brakes Hissing Sid ran right away to go on for an effortless win.

Early leader Cruyfforme boxed on well and held second, ahead of Light Vision in third place.
